International Litigation

As part of our New York based practice, we work with attorneys around the world to resolve cross-border matrimonial disputes that are negotiated or litigated simultaneously in different countries.  With the increasing mobility of families, it has more increasingly common that a family dispute is litigated in two or more states or countries.  For instance, distribution of a couple’s marital property can be under New York’s jurisdiction while child custody issues have to be dealt by a French court that has proper jurisdiction as the children’s home state.

Ms. Kohtz has been called upon to provide expert opinions and testimonies on New York law, Chinese family law, immigration law, and private international law.
